This is the begging of the edits. In this image I have Increased the resolution of the image from 72 DPI to 300 DPI. I have change this as, this is because when it will be used for the front of a magazine front cover it has to have a high resolution to make it have a professional standard. In addition to this change I have also used the the un-sharp mask tool, this is an automatic tool which is used to define the image more. I change the image from 54% to 200% as I felt that anything high would make the image look unnatural. I also adjusted the brighten and contrast the image to also enhance the image and also to define the image more. I change the brightness to 8 and the contrast to -4 as I feel like this enhanced the image more.
In this image I took the new image that has been sharpened image and I have done another common thing that is done in the media is the clone stamp tool. This is I have removed some of the imperfections on the skin and have made the skin look more flawless. I have done this as the technique suggests that I used the clone stamp tool to make the model look more flawless.
In this image I have used the dodge and Burn tool. I have used the burn tool to add more richer and deep tones to the model and also I have used the dodge tool to make some aspects to make some thing lighter.
This image I have used the curve tool. I used this to bring out the certain colours to bring out the best colours in the image.
In these images I used the noise tool to create a more textured look even a more old fashion look. This image would most likely be used on the front cover as it gives the magazine a more rustic look.
With this image I have desaturated the image. This give a more moody effect and would be good for a front cover.
In this image I have added a layer with soft light to add more colour to the edited image.
This is my final testing image, and I would like to create this image for my final product and would hope it turns out something like this. I think with all of the features that I have described doing to this image, you can real see how different the image is and how it looks better on the front cover of a magazine. I would like to use the soft lighting tool to add more colours to the product and also ensure that the image still looks rewritable to the first image.
This Image Is The Edited Version For My Final Product.
The next image I have started to edit the image for my magazine and what will become the final image for the magazine. This image is edited with the some of the mentioned tools. The main too that I have used is the Dodge and Burn tool. I used these to give my model more definition and to define the light and dark tones on the model.
Another tool is used to get the final outcome was the, has been sharpened by the sharpen mask tool. This gives my model a more defined look and adds a slight out line from the character and the background. Another thing that I have done to this image is the is that I have used the curve tool to change some of the colour variation, I think that it achieves a more warmer and inviting tone to the image, that before looked cold. I also used the brightness and contrast to add a lighter feel to the model to make her stand out from the background. I also used the clone stamp tool to erase some of the minor blemishes on my model face, this gives my model a more of a flattering look. I have also added soft lightening and hard lighting to this image to ensure the colours that my model was wearing, came out stronger than they would other wise. I also added another layer to change the curves of this layer and mad more drastic changes to that image that I then murdge with the other image of my model.
This Is Further On Through The Design Of My Magazine.
This is My magazine so far. I have added a button cell, the main mask header, the magazine title, and I have started the bottom of the magazine.
I created the button cells by inserting different sized circles to create the effect that the button has on it now. I added the text in three different text boxes, this allowed me to get all three parts looking and fitting into the circle. To achieve the star circle I inserted a circle with a clear border and use the text wrap tool to make the stars follow the circle around. I have used line guided lines to ensure that everything that I have put in to my magazine is in line and not out of line with other thing on my magazine.
This Is My Final Magazine Design.
This is my final pieces, I have added allot of significant changes to my magazine. I have added the bar at the bottom of the magazine, I have added the film titles down the left hand side and I have also added the titles as the bottom of the magazine.
I created the box at the bottom by inserting a shape and stretching it along the bottom of the magazine. I made sure that I stuck to the three colour rule with the colour used, I made one of theses colours blue as that is on of the colours that my model is wearing. I also chose orange as I think that it brings out the colour of the models lips. And white was chose to stand out from the background. I added images in this box which I turned into the drop box. I made sure that all the images were the same size by placing them over the top of each other and making sure that one was not bigger than the other. With the text on the left, I used the text tool ledding and kerging to make the text closer and more close together. I did this to make sure that it was neat and readable.
Some Images I will Be Using In My Magazine.
I created this for the background of My title page. This image was originally a Vertigo poster, However I changed this image to my need. I made it bigger in PhotoShop and also used the clone stamp tool on the colour to ensure that non of the text was left. Another thing that was good with this image was the colour. The orange colour matched my magazine orange, which is why this image works even better with my magazine. With the title being Plot Twists I wanted a certain twist with my title. In addition this image provided a spiral which I have added text over to create the twist to the title.
With this image I have changed the DPI so that this image will not look stretched and look in focus. I have also cropped this image to make sure that the image I want to use will be able to fit and not disrupt the text around it. Another thing that I have done is changed the curvature of the image to make it more blue to fit in with the darker tones in my magazine.
This image I have cropped it again, this is to make sure that the image will not inter fear with the surrounding text and wont get in the way of anything else that is going on. I also used PhotoShop to add dodge and burn to this image to make it lighter and also to make it fit in more. Again, same with the other image that I spoke about was the curve tool, again I made the image more blue again to make it fit in more with the the other images and make it up to a professional standard.
My First Magazine Spread
This is what my magazine looks like at the early stages of its development. Some of the things I have done with the magazine is added the title through PhotoShop. However I was not happy and I was wanting to change the Image to something more professional and more to a higher standard. Another thing was the lack of page furniture, I would want to add something to fill out the last page and make it more filling than what it already is there. Another thing that I hope to change would be the the numbers for thee films. Again I think they are to plain and need to be raised to a professional standard and not look like any one could have achieved them. Another thing that I would like to change is the breakers between the paragraphs, I need to change them to something more subtle that wont draw away from the whole magazine. I also need to maybe to take away an image from the side bar as I think there would be to many images with two and might detract from the article written there. Another thing is that all the films that are on my magazine need a date to show when they were made.
This is my final magazine spread. I am happy how it turned out. Some of the things that I particularly like about the magazine is the front page to it. One thing why I think the works well is the first page of the magazine. I think this works well as it links to my front cover, with the colours both being incorporated in the front cover and the first title page. Another thing that I like about the image is the actual image on the front page as I think that is concatenates the twisting of a plot twists. Another thing I think works well is the diagonal images, with these I have used them to create energy as they are angled towards the text and make the reader want to read what is there. I also like the evenness of the headers, I like theses as it gives a uniform to text and makes sure that thing that are linked with the paragraphs or the certain text that is linked to that section. another thing I like with the first page is the internationality with the poster, this rewards the customers who are knowledgeable about films and where it comes from. However this does not exclude the people who don't understand where the poster has come from and still rewards them with the connotations of a twisting plot. In addition to the side bar and the other page furniture I also believe that the side bar as well add more page variety and create more of a flowing page rather than each section being split with out anything else on the page. I also have added quote incerts to create 'flick-ability' which stops the reader from missing the page when they are flicking through the magazine. Another thing that I have added is the authenticity. I have done this by using: kickers, page furniturre, headers and also house font. The page furniture add authenisty by making the magazine look like it has come from total film and, the house style font also give the same effect to the reader when they will be reading it.
